Description
The Bison T-Rex 96 Competition Portable Basketball Goal is the flagship of Bison's T-Rex line and its only FIBA-sanctioned model, built to the full 96 inch extension distance that meets NCAA and National High School Federation requirements for regulation competition floors, from elite international play down to intramural and recreational use.
Like every T-Rex portable, Competition uses extension spring counterbalance technology instead of hydraulics, so there's no electrical hookup and nothing to leak, with zero-maintenance self-lubricating bearings at every pivot and narrow-profile uprights that keep sightlines clear for fans and media during broadcast or livestream coverage.
A 72 inch unbreakable tempered glass backstop raises for play or lowers for storage by one person in seconds, and the unit rolls into place on 8 inch diameter running gear with front leveling pads for play.
A 180-degree breakaway direct goal mounting design virtually eliminates stress on the glass, which is why Bison offers a limited lifetime warranty on the backboard, and over 1,000 pounds of totally enclosed ballast eliminates tipping, with rear hold-downs included as required by the NCAA and NHSF for competition portable goals. Rim height adjusts from 10 feet down to 6 feet on the same spring-aided design.
It comes complete with color-matching Bison DuraSkin padding, Bison breakaway goals, and 2 inch thick base and front padding available in a choice of 12 school colors, plus heavy foam padding on the sides and back of the base. In transport position, it rolls through any doorway at least 84 inches high and 78 inches wide.
At the flagship level of the T-Rex line, American Super Sports' experience with this category of commercial competition equipment helps colleges, athletic departments, and league operators confirm padding colors and configuration details before this system ships.
Base measures 40 inches wide by 74 inches long, with stored dimensions of 76 inches wide by 160 inches long by 78 inches high; it ships at approximately 2,625 pounds, and because of that weight, unloading requires a forklift or loading dock. The backboard carries Bison's limited lifetime warranty, with the frame, base, and lift mechanism warranted against manufacturing defects under Bison's standard policy, and the system is made in the USA at Bison's Lincoln, Nebraska plant.
