The Ironclad Gamechanger GC55-LG Adjustable Basketball System is for the family that wants a little more backboard on the driveway without giving up an inch of quality. Ironclad pairs a one-piece 5 inch by 5 inch, 12 gauge square steel post, thicker than the thinner two-piece posts many competitors use, with a 36 inch by 60 inch backboard of 5/16 inch thick tempered glass trimmed in aluminum. Tempered glass is what competition backboards are made of, so bank shots come off with that lively, gym-floor bounce. The 30 inch offset puts the board out over the driveway and keeps players away from the post.

Crank It Down for the Little Ones

Turn the all-steel crank actuator and the rim moves anywhere between 7.5 and 10 feet, with a rim height indicator that is easy to read from the driveway. The lifetime coverage stays with the original owner, cannot be transferred, and is limited to goals installed at a single family home; this is a residential hoop and is not warrantied for commercial use. The painted coating carries a one year limited warranty, as does the padding, and vandalism, extreme weather and ordinary weathering or UV wear fall outside the coverage.

GC55-LG Buyer Questions

Is a 60 inch backboard right for my driveway? Ironclad recommends a 54 inch or 60 inch backboard for a two car driveway, and says 60 inch boards also work for three car driveways.

Does the GC55-LG come with padding? Yes. The post pad is included and the backboard pad comes pre-installed.

What does the breakaway rim do? It flexes down when a player hangs on the rim and snaps back to its original position when they let go.
